TELL YOUR STORY – Cyril (USA)

Background of TELL YOUR STORY:

The purpose of this section of my blog is to foster a sense of community with people from all around the world. It’s a space where guests on my site can share their answers and unique perspectives to a couple of life’s important questions. By doing so, they share a piece of their personal story. My hope is that you, the reader, will find value in this community. Whatever stage of life you’re passing through, whatever is on your mind, whatever you may be stuck on, I hope you find some inspiration from the TELL YOUR STORY series. Happy reading!

Introducing today’s guest: Cyril

What inspires you?

Seeing others doing what they love and seeing them happy.

What excites you?

Seeing the results that others have achieved, especially after they’ve put in the work to achieve them.

What’s your personal philosophy?

I believe taking small steps will lead to big results.

What advice would you give someone who is currently feeling lost or purposeless in life? What helps you or has helped you before in these situations?

What’s helped me, was accepting what I’m feeling and not judging myself for it. We really have to dig deep and ask ourselves or be honest with a friend, about what we’re truly feeling. Talking it out with someone you trust, has really helped me when I’ve felt lost.

Have any specific books/podcasts/videos/social media accounts/people had a significant impact on you and your outlook on life? If so, what would you share with others?

Atomic Habits by James Clear had a big impact. The goals we want to achieve, start with small steps and creating systems. Setting up systems for ourselves to perform tasks, will eliminate the need for “motivation” or “inspiration”. When done the right way, we’ll achieve our goals faster than we think :).

Tell me a bit about your story– what is a part of your story (or your identity) that has most shaped you as a person?

My wife and I dated for 6 years long distance before we got married! Not seeing each other often was very tough, but it forced me to become a good communicator and more importantly, a better listener.

What are you hoping readers will take away from what you have to share?

Don’t be afraid to go after what you want in life. Take small steps and trust yourself to figure it out as you go. Fail fast and get up even faster.
